Yesterday we had some records set in our Men's Day event with many players shooting lights out and posting some low numbers.  It is hard to talk about just one or two players when so many played so well.  We had 7 players out of 22 break 80 and two of those players shooting under par with one carding a four under par 68!

Lets start with the player who bogied the last two holes he played and still managed to shoot one under par 71 and take the lions share of the skins pot with 3 total skins Dr. Andy Summers.  Dr. Summers also captured 2nd place in the 2 man blind draw game with sharp shooting Jack Maisano as his partner who went +6 on his stableford which is the second week in a row Mr. Maisano has destroyed his stableford quota. Great work guys!!  We had a log jam at the third place spot in the 2 man blind draw game with Dr. Stokes and Tom Lorenz shooting 62 along with Rick Finnin & Bill Womble as well as Richard Gais & Ed Heflin rounding out the other teams that carded a 62 to take a piece of the 3rd place pie.

It would usually be a landfall victory in the Stableford competition to go 9 points over your quota like Tom Lorenz did yesterday, which makes it three weeks in a row that he has wrecked his quota for some big cash payout, but We had a player who downright dominated Men's Day today.  Steve Ahlfeld started the day with a bogey and ended the day with a bogey but everything in between was quite excellent I must say.  Steve was going along swimmingly at just one over par until his first birdie on the sixth hole.  Then the floodgates opened and he played the next 11 holes with 5 more birdies and no bogie's.  He completely destroyed his stableford quota going 14 points over and collecting first place in the 2 Man game with the Dunner (Dave Dunn) as his partner who helped him out on a couple holes to capture the title by one shot over Summers and Maisano.  Great Playing Steve!!

We had 14 people go over their stableford quota today which has got to be a record.  So based on that news given the Pro was right on his quota it would be an appropriate statement to say that he took quite a beating in the Beat the Pro game.  Better luck next week I guess.  Check out the results sheet below for complete details on everyone's play.

Thanks for everyone playing today.  Next weeks format is a 4 person team game
of Whack and Hack.  You take the low net ball and combine it with the high net ball to get the teams score.  Net double bogey will be max score and the Pro Shop will make up the teams.  The play will commence with a 10am shotgun start.  I hope to see you there.

Best,

Dave

Andy Summers, Richard Gais, Bob Thome and Ed Heflin playing sizing up their putts on the 2nd green.

Welcome to the bad lies club Mr. Blank.  Somebody should have put sand in that one I think.

Now that is going to be a divot that may require a whole bottle of sand!

Peter Vanica making his second birdie in a row on the 9th hole en route to making three in a row.  I couldn't get him to do the turkey dance though.
