Larry Rose Repeats as Sr. Club Champion for 2013

I had a case of Déjà vu at this years Senior Club Championship.  I think it was because we had a repeat champion in Larry Rose.  Larry is one of the steadiest players around and won this year with anther dose of his down the middle on the green steady as a rock playing style.  On day one he opened with a solid round or 76 which was good enough for a 7 shot lead over his closest competitor Ed Bernard.  On day two Rose had a stumble here and there but managed to still shoot a very nice 78.  This two day total of 154 claimed him his second consecutive Senior Club Championship by 10 shots!  Make sure when you see the Colonel around the club to congratulate him on a job well done!  We also had some flight winners that will begetting the always coveted invite to the year end Champions dinner.  In the first flight we had long hitting John Doster capturing the Net Championship with a white hot round two that propelled him past the competition and on to glory.  His second day net score was seven shots better than anyone else in his flight.  That tidy little 66 gave him a two day total of 140.  Nice work John!  The Second flight had a gross and a net winner since the overall champion came out of the first flight.  The gross champion was Ed Bernard who was the most consistent player in the tournament.  He racked up back to back 83's for a two day total of 166 and an invite to the Champions Dinner.  The net side of things was decided by a scorecard playoff because Dave "the Dunner" Dunn and Dick "The Terminator" Tilley were deadlocked at 150.  Dick Tilley had to be called back to the club to get his picture taken.  Mr. Tilley was elated to hear of his long awaited invite to the 2013 Champions Dinner.  He will certainly be watching that mailbox closely come October when those invites go out.  Thanks to all who played and made this tournament possible.  We certainly appreciate your support!

Dick Tilley Net Flight Champion
Ed Bernard Gross Flight Champion
