The Pick-A-Pro from the Masters field had some interesting results and it really made an impact which player you picked. The object was to combine your low net score along with a player from the Masters field for Saturday. You got a bonus of 1 shot off of your score for wearing Masters gear. We had some tight grouping at the top of the leader board so it made a big difference whether you wore your masters gear or not. It took one of our players up one full spot because of it! The top spot was taken by the player who did not post the lowest score but made a good choice of partner in Angel Cabrera coupled with his Masters garb giving him an additional stroke off for a 1st place total of 137. That player was Jim Blank! Way to go Jimbo! The second place finisher was the man with the best individual score but failed to choose a partner who did the same. Steve Schwerin played a near flawless round of net 66 and was all decked out in his Masters gear but his boy Sergio Garcia let him down a bit by shooting 73 down at the other National Golf Club. Their total of 138 was just one shot back. Sorry Steve. Great playing anyway! You know we can't have a men's day without mentioning Ed Bernard right? Well Ed managed to slip into the 3rd paying spot by combining his score of net 71 with the Masters co-leader Brandt Snedeker who scored an impressive 69 to get his team to 140. Good work Ed although it must be a bit of a let down from taking the top spot every week. The fourth place finisher was Joel Tew who was all alone in that spot thanks to his lovely Masters paraphernalia. He finished at 144 total thanks to his partner Jason Day and his 1 stroke off for wearing Master Gear. In the last paying spot you had a tie with two players that jumped up from a tie for 13th and a tie for 11th to a tie for 5th because of their excellent choice in partners. Frank D'Auria wisely chose Angel Cabrera and Russ Stokes took Eldrick to score 145 and the final paying spot for that event. Nice work guys!
The Skin's Game had a 4 way tie at the top of the heap with Paul Courneya, John Doster, Steve Schwerin & Dough Turner all getting 2 skins each.
The Stableford Game was also a tie at the top with Dave "the dunner" Dunn and Steve "Down the Middle" Schwerin taking top honors with an impressive +5 over their quota.
Tough day for the Pro today with everyone beating his number. ouch!
Thanks to everyone for playing!
Best,
Dave
