Men's Day Results for June 2nd 2012

It was quite the Chamber of Commerce day here at National for our first Men's Day of June.  We had a great showing for our group at 24 players.  We had our regular 3 steady games (stableford, skins & beat the pro) along with best 3's and 5's game.  Each player would eliminate all the par 4 holes and just count the score on the par 3's and 5's.  We had Net & Gross winners in this event.

The top dog on the gross side was Andy Summers who had a bit of a rough start going 6 over par on the first 7 holes but rallied nicely to go 4 under on holes 8 thru 18 for a gross score of 74.  This result equated to a two under par 32 for the 3's & 5's game and also first place prize money.  The net champ was smooth swinging Steve Schwerin who carded a nice 3 under par 29 and acquired 1st place pay day.

In the skins game we had Andy Summers on top again with 3 total skins.  He had 2 gross skins with a nice 1 put eagle on the 8th hole and 1 net skin.  Nice work Andy!  Doc was followed closely by a bevy of players with 2 skins and Jeff Huber pulling up the rear with 1 skin on the 9th hole.  Check out the results sheet for full details.

In the Stableford competition it was no contest with Steve Points destroying his quota by 15 POINTS! The next closest to him was the Dunner going over by 8 points.  8 points over would generally be in the top spot but not this week with Points getting so many points. Excellent job Steve!

The Beat the Pro game saw 5 players topping the pro.  I think the problem with my poor performance is just too much practice.

Thanks to everyone for playing this week.  Next weeks format is Random Best Ball of the 4 Player team.  Each player will be assigned a number before the round and on your scorecard you will see which hole will count for your net best ball.

Remember to get your match play matches scheduled and played please.

Don't Forget to sign up for the Men's Invitational.  It is just around the corner.

Best,

Dave
