Today we will just call it the Ed Bernard show because he was top dog in every category. We can't give him all the credit though because his team mates did help him to win the 1 Net & 1 Gross of the four player team. The team of Paul Courneya, Dave Dunn, Andy Wright and Ed Bernard lapped the field with a score of 12 under par which was seven shots clear of their nearest competitors. Congratulations to team Bernard!
Ed continued his dominance in the stable-ford game by going seven over his quota. He attributes this to his stellar play on the front nine by shooting 39 despite making a seven on the fourth hole. Another standout in the Stable-ford game was long hitting Dave Dunn who destroyed his quota by six! He was the back side anchor to the team by shooting a nice 41 which included one birdie on 10 and a finish of three consecutive pars on 16, 17 & 18. Nice work Dave!
The skins leader was Ed Bernard. I know this is starting to sound like a broken record! Ed had 3 skins to top this category. Great playing to today Ed!
Thanks to everyone for playing in today's event! Check out the calendar to the left here for all upcoming men's day formats and times as well as other upcoming golf events.

MGA Opening Day March 16th 2013
MGA Opening day was today and we had a great turnout of 28 players. The boys enjoyed a beautiful Carolina day here at National for their opening event for the 2013 season. The games today were Skins, Stableford, Beat the Pro and a team game of 2 net balls of the 4 player team. ![]() |
| Sam Packard reaches in to pluck out his Ace on the 12th hole. |
We had Mr. Sam Packard make his second ace of his career today on the 12th hole with a nice one bouncer and in the cup! His last ace came on the 2nd hole when he was just 10 years old. The ace was witnessed by his Dad, Mark Packard, Mark Watson and myself. Way to go Sam! that was a great shot.
The top earner today was Ron Coffman who came prepared to go low. He had an impressive one under par 71 and cleaned up in the Stableford game. He topped that off with being the skins leader also with four of those. Nice work Mr. Fire!
The team game was dominated by the foursome of Mike Girimont, Pete Mamuzic, Tim Buckley & Randy Legallais. The went super low in the 2 net ball game with 21 under par. Close on their heals was the team of Paul Courneya, Tom Boals, Frank D'Auria and Ed Bernard. That team went nineteen under par to capture the 2nd place spot.
I took a beating on the golf course today so we had lots of players beating the pro! Check out the summary sheet to see the complete list.
The play today was followed by a very nice deli lunch provided by the MGA. The boys stuck around after for some food and drink before they ventured home to see what was on the honey do list.
Thanks to everyone who attended today and I hope to see you next week. We are tee times next week. Check out the calendar on the blog for all upcoming men's day formats and times.
Best,
Dave
