Men's Day 2012 is under way with some excellent golf played today by many of our members. The weather gave us a little taste of everything today with a little rain a little sunshine and a little wind. Today's Format was Best 17 with both Gross & Net divisions. We also had the standard Skins, Stableford & Beat the Pro (not very hard today!) In the Best 17 format we had Ron Coffman Jr. Come out on top in the Gross division with a nice 68. Who would have known that he would be in contention after starting the day off 5 over par after 5 holes. Then we found out why they call him Fire because he went on a run of 4 birdies in a row to go out in only 1 over par. Nice playing Ron!. Paul Courneya turned in a very respectable round 71that earned him second place money in the gross. In the Net division we had Ed Bernard and Bill Womble locking horns for the number 1 spot at 59 (both players shot a net 66 WOW). Only 1 shot behind those two aces were Jim Blank and Mark Watson at 60 to lock up the last 2 paying spots in the Net category.
In the Stableford format Ed Bernard blitzed the field shooting an excellent round of 77 which earned him 33 points which put him 8 points over his quota. Nice playing Ed. Mark Watson was close behind with +7. The jury is still out on that guys handicap. Nice shooting Mark!
Their was a feeding frenzy on the pro today with 8 people besting the pro to double their money in that game. Looks like the Pro will have to get some time out on the practice tee to knock some of the rust off of his game. Thanks to everyone for playing today and don't forget to sign up for next weeks game. It will be Best 1 net ball of the two player team. The pro shop will be making up the teams and it will be a 10:00am shotgun start next week.
Best,
Dave

| Mark Watson driving it down the 6th hole after making 4 straight pars. Did I mention their is an official investigation ongoing into the validity of his handicap. |
 |
| Jim Blank putting from about 6 feet away. He calls this his comfort zone because his expectations of making the putt are so low it allows him to stroke the ball a little better. Of course he made this one for par which started him on a red hot streak of 5 pars in a row. There has also been talk of some committee members investigating his handicap. |

| Paul Courneya holding court in the Cornerstone after finishing his round. His foursome had quite a good day all shooting in the 70's. |
 |
| I guess Jim was not satisfied with his round of net 68 so he went to the range to see if he could buy a game. After finding out his driver was just fine he progressed to the hybrids but had to check with the boss at home before making a purchase. |
